We have an office in UK who uses connects to our US office instance of Dynamics GP. Is it possible to run the UK Localization & the US Localization on the same instance depending on who logs in.

Document Attach - GP2013 - Database size
Everyone have fun at Convergence?!?!
I had one question that nobody at Convergence could answer; maybe someone in the Community knows????
Here's the question. The new Document Attach feature saves the attached documents in a SQL Blog inside the SQL Company DB.
Say a PDF is 1gb and I attach it to the Customer Maintenance card in GP, How much did the size of my SQL server db increase due to the attachment of the 1gb PDF???
Can you see the issue? 1gb Document set to default attach to every transaction created for that Customer. That means that 1gb PDF gets created and saved for every transaction. 50,000 Transactions later, what effect did that 1gb attachment have on the db.

MR2012 CU8 "The Operation could not be completed due to a problem in the data provider network"
This error message seems to be pretty common in MR2012 as I could other posts and discussions starting with that... but here stops the similarity. I couldn't find any other error report that was having the same Event Log entries as we experience since a few days as we updated our CU7 release to CU8.
It has to be said that this pop-up shows up about 20 times when trying to open a column definitions that used to work perfectly before the upgrade. Prior to CU8, we only had the legacy connector installed, but with CU8 we decided to give a try to the Data Mart connector (DM) since we use heavily multi-currency.
Here the message we encounter the most commonly when trying to generate a consolidate report :

We tried to roll-back to CU7, having take a SQL backup of the MR dB before the upgrade, but even after re-installing CU7, we keep getting error messages and the same infamous pop-up. The CU7 has only the legacy connector setup, and the error message is slightly different, but nonetheless, there is no report generation possible anymore...
This is an urgent issue and we opened already a ticket with our partner, but they seem to be as lost as we are...

Client upgrade rights
Recently applied SP 2 to our GP 2013 installation. Set it to update the clients when users log in. But, apparently users with limited rights cannot run the update. It gives a few errors, starting with "Failed to create verbose log file". But, for any user that is marked as a 'PowerUser', things run fine. If I log into a client machine as myself, it works, but not if I login as one of the limited users. So, which security role do I have to add to the users so that they can actually do the upgrade?

MR and Multi-Tenant
Looking to deploy MR in a multi-tenant environment, looked through the documentation and looking at anything I can find, just not finding recommended practices. Is it as simple as when you setup the company, and point to the system DB, point to the appropriate GP Instance, then limit the Users in MR security to their own company(s). That seems to straight forward, but if I don't have to make it any harder all the better.

Make GP 2013 Web Client External
Hi,
Our networking team made the web ciient URL external, so off campus people can access GP. I had someone try it to see if she could get in, and she received the error below. She used IE initially and then tried Chrome when she received the error. She is able to sign on with her active directory account and can click create a new session. After this, the error occurs. She also ran this program from the web browser: DynamicsGPTrustedApp.msi. She is also using the domain with her user name (<domain>\user name) on the initial sign-in screen.

Is the current version of GP 2013 (SP 2) and the future (SP 3) supported on Windows Server 2012 R2?
This is not specifically stated in the GP 2013 System Requirements.

Unable to add the line item Site ID to print on PO Lines in Report Writer
Our customer wants the Site ID to print out for each line item on their PO. I went into the report writer to add the field, but the field was unavailable. Does anyone know how I can make this happen? (The customer does not want to use Word Forms.)

linking fields to database
Is there a way to know from which table the value in a field is obtained?
Eg : the unit cost field in the sales transaction window.
I have been trying to use the DATABASE diagrams in the SDK but when clicking on a link a page opens up with cloured boxes and nothing can be seen. I then click on "enable blocked content" and nothing happens.
any help appreciated.

Dexterity sanScript issue
I am sure I have seen a solution to this before, many years ago. I have a 3rd party dictionary with a form. On the form is a button. I rewrote the change script on the button and compiled it (because I changed the table layout and one of the fields no longer existed in the table). When I compile the code, I get no errors and everything looks to be correct. But when I run the form in debug mode, I get an error stating that the field doesn't exist. Somehow, the compiled version of the script doesn't match the source code. I have tried deleting the script and recreating it but I am still getting the same error.
Any ideas?

Update fixed allocation accounts using Integration Manager
I'm trying to update all fixed allocation accounts (several hundred) using IM. I get the error 'Distribution account xxxx-xxx has been entered already'. The integration apparently won't update if the distribution account has already been used on the allocation account. This is in GP2010, using IM 11.00.2055
However when I test the same scenario using GP2013 and IM12.00.1424 it works perfectly. Is the ability to update allocation accounts something new in GP2013? Or have I done something wrong in the integration?

SmartList Designer - Case Query
Hi
Loving the look of the new SmartList Designer. I thought it might be a nice answer to the age old issue in SmartList of credit documents showing as positives. It is something most of my clients find very frustrating if they want to dump a list of documents.
I am not a SQL script minded person - I can read them, but not so great with the writing. I much prefer the "IF, THEN, ELSE" in Excel. I am struggling with the correct form and I don't know whether it is just me, but it seems like the "THEN" option is missing (or don't we need it).
Anyway, basically I want:
If Document Type >= 7 then Document Amount * -1 else Document Amount
If someone is able to tell me how this should look in SmartList Designer, I would greatly appreciate it.

GP 2010 Payroll Prompt Print Edit Reports
I installed GP 2010 while ago and the TWO company as well. When I went to
Tools>Setup>Payroll>Payroll-Additional>Prompt Print Edit Reports I am unable
to see and check the on/off buttons for the report option. I was expecting
to then be able to (somehow) set a flag for which reports print and which
report to not print.
so where i can find Prompt Print Edit Reports window in GP 201

How to restore the performance of Windows 8- System optimization or Windows Data Recovery Software?
The latest edition of Windows 8 is great in many ways like online storage, detection of malware, easy installation and un installation of apps, and several more. However, it shows a lot of glitches through slow performance and slow booting due to OS corruption, space crunch, virus attacks.
And, due to lack of know how about system optimization, we have to call the experts to resume the normal schedule of the OS. Although, there are a lot of processes to get back to the normal situations, which can take a longer period of time. Henceforth, Windows Recovery Application is the best answer to all such problems, which lead to data inaccessibility or loss.
How to optimize the system?
Disable the Search Service of Windows
It is a non-stop service and collects the information about the changes in files. Disable the service, if no longer in use.
1. Click on the Windows Key.
2. Enter "Services.msc" in the Search Box.
3. Press the Apps icon.
4. Open it
5. Right click on the "Windows Search", and select the Properties
6. Set the Startup Type=> Disabled
7. Press Apply | OK
8. Restart the system.
Program Uninstallation
Uninstallation of programs will empty the disk space, which will provide more space for storage of temporary resources and at the same time it will improve the performance of Windows 8.
1. Click on the Windows Key.
2. Type "Control Panel" in the Search Box option.
3. Press the Apps icon.
4. Open it
5. Press the Programs | Click on the Uninstall button.
6. Right click on a barely used program, and choose Uninstall.
7. After completion of the process restart the PC.
Optimization of the System Settings
Change the default settings and fix it for the best performance. Follow the given steps for the same:
1. Right click on My Computer,
2. Select the Properties.
2. Click on the Advanced system settings.
3. Click on the Advanced tab | Performance
4. Press the Visual Effect tab
5. Choose "Adjust system settings for the best performance".
6. Click on OK twice.
7. Clean Boot
It implies disabling all the startup applications as well as Non-Microsoft services to speed up the computer booting and decrease the background services.
1. Click on the Windows Key + R.
2. Run the dialog box
3. Enter the "MSCONFIG"
4. Below the General tab go for the "Selective startup".
5. Uncheck the "Load startup items".
6. Click OK
7. Restart.
Deletion of Cache Contents
Cache files occupy a huge area of the disk and due to space crunch the programs run slower . Delete all unwanted content through the below process:
1. Double click on My Computer.
2. Right click on the disk drive, and select Properties.
3. Press General | Disk Clean Up.
4. Go on with the instructions on-screen.
5. Clean all the disk drives too.
Instead of all these precautions, if you still face the problems related to data loss situation, then it's good to use a Windows Data Recovery Software. The tool recovers the deleted, corrupted, or formatted files within minutes and provides the accurate result. The software is based upon Graphical User Interface (GUI) and therefore is easy to implement.
A technical or non-technical person can download and install the software. Launch the application and select the recovery mode. Thereafter, select the drive and partition. Now, it's time to select the required files and save them in a preferred location.

MR allowing only "sa" user?
I have installed MR in my system. When I open the MR, in credential window it is accepting only sa user and password. If I enter any other users which is in GP it is not allowing. But in another system, I found the MR is allowing both sa and GP users credentials . Please suggest me if anybody know the reason?
