I have a ton of journal entries that have what appears to be a inventory variance prefix (IVAR00XXXXX). When I run an inquiry on the journal entry, the source document is GJ with no ability to drill backwards. I know these are not journal entries that were manually created. Where do they originate, some come from the AP department users, some come from our GL department but none come from the inventory department? What triggers the journal entry to be made, it does not all come from purchasing. Why would it create an entry from the sub-ledger without an audit trail back to it?
