During the previous fiscal year, there were sales transactions made that had items with a sales revenue account that was incorrect. As a result, the P&L shows too much revenue in one account and not enough in another.
For example, there are multiple invoices that have the item “Techsup – Technical support” created with the Sales Account “Sales of Hardware and Software (000-04-11000)” that should have been classified as “Sales, IT Consulting (000-04-1200)”
It is easy for me to go into the item card and change the sales account but it does not change sales transactions that have been closed.
So our P&L totals are correct but they are classed in the wrong accounts.
This is a very serious issue for us and I need to find a way to correct the for past transactions from the current and previous fiscal years.
Is there anything that can be done? Perhaps a programmer can fix this?
