Run checklinks automatically (at night)

I'm looking to become daring and enable to run once or twice a month after the nightly backup. All that stands in my way is fear of screwing up and no clue on how to do it.

Here's what I can do-

1. log into the server
2. run very basic sql queries
3. create a keyboard macro in gp 
4. Created a backup plan that runs thru sql server agent

Is there any hope of helping me create an automatic way of running check links?
